Wojtek Gierlach sings with the Poznań Philharmonic Orchestra in a programme of "Unknown Operas"
March 20th, 2024
Bass Wojtek Gierlach takes part in the next concert organised by the Poznań Philharmonic Orchestra in a programme entitled Unknown Operas, in which two little-known works by Darius Milhaud will be performed: Le pauvre matelot Op. 92 and Salade Op. 83.

Le pauvre matelot (The poor sailor) is an opera in three acts with a libretto in French by Jean Cocteau. It premiered at the Opéra-Comique on 16 December 1927. Salade, Ballet chanté en deux actes, is an opera ballet in two acts with a libretto by the French journalist and critic Albert Flament.

The cast will consist of sopranos Magdalena Lucjan and Natalia Rubiś, tenors Krystian Adam Krzeszowiak and Krzysztof Lachman, as well as baritones Robert Gierlach and Adrian Janus, and bass Wojtek Gierlach.

The Poznań Philharmonic Orchestra will be conducted by Łukasz Borowicz and the concert will take place on 22 March at the Warsaw National Philharmonic.
