We are pleased to announce that soprano Sara Bañeras joins our roster of artists and we would like to thank her for the trust she has placed in GoDirect. Sara Bañeras studied at the Conservatory of Valencia where she obtained her Master in Opera. She has studied with tenor Dalmau González and soprano Ofelia Sala, and has received master classes from Montserrat Caballé, Renata Scotto, Mariella Devia, Teresa Berganza, Ernesto Palacio, Chris Merritt, Alberto Zedda and Miquel Ortega. She also attended several opera studios, as the Academia Rossiniana of the Rossini Opera Festival, where she performed Il viaggio a Reims. She has been awarded 1st prize in several international singing competitions. Sara made her professional debut as Francina in the Catalan zarzuela Cançó d’amor i de guerra and has since taken on operatic roles such as Pamina and Papagena (Die Zauberflöte), Amore (Orfeo ed Euridice), Frasquita (Carmen), Duquesa Carolina (Luisa Fernanda) and Violetta (La traviata). She has sung these and other roles in theaters and festivals in Spain, Italy, Germany, France and Switzerland. Her recent performances include Adina in L’elisir d’amore at Teatro Mayor in Bogotá (Ópera de Colombia), her debut at the Liceu as Contessa di Ceprano in Rigoletto and Musetta in La bohème at Palau de la Música Catalana and a series of concerts on tour of the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallés. Her engagements this season include a concert version of La traviata in Girona, the recording of a cycle of songs by Joan Manau and a concert tour with Juventudes Musicales de España, as well as the show Papageno and Cia in different cities.
