We are pleased to announce that tenor Andrés Sánchez Joglar joins our roster of artists and we would like to thank him for the trust he has placed in GoDirect. Andrés Sánchez Joglar studied vocals at the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory in Havana, his hometown, graduating in 2012. He has completed his training at the National Lyric Theater of Cuba and has perfected himself with master classes with artists such as Mietta Sighele, Nancy Fabiola Herrera, Jorge de León and Fiorenza Cedolins, among others.
He has won awards in various competitions and contests, such as the Second Prize at the Young Lyric Singers Competition in Pinar del Río, the first prize at the Jesus Lee Competition and a prize in the Riccardo Zandonai Singing Competition in Riva del Garda.
Since his debut in 2011 as Normanno and Arturo in Lucia di Lammermoor at the National Lyric Theater in Cuba, he has played some of the main roles for tenor in this same theater, such as Alfredo Germont (La traviata), Mario Cavaradossi (Tosca) and Florestan (Fidelio), among others. He has also played the Duke of Mantua (Rigoletto) at the Martí Theater in Havana; Mozart's Requiem and the role of Fabio in Il canto dell'amor trionfante at the National Lyric Theater in Havana; and Saturnin in the opera Le val d'Andorre by Fromental Halévy with Opera d'Andorra.
Equally comfortable in the zarzuela repertoire, he has sung the main characters in titles such as Cecilia Valdés, Molinos de viento, Luisa Fernanda and María de la O.
