Rafael Sánchez-Araña debuts Roberto Devereux at the Opera de Las Palmas

Conductor Rafael Sánchez-Araña debuts Gaetano Donizetti's opera Roberto Devereux this week at the Ópera de Las Palmas. It will feature an outstanding cast, starring Yolanda Auyanet as Elisabetta and José Bros as Roberto Devereux. They will be accompanied by, among others, the mezzo-soprano Paola Gardina, who performs the role of Sara, as well as the baritone Youngjun Park, who will be the Duke of Nottingham.
Maestro Sánchez-Araña will conduct the Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria and the Coro del Festival de Ópera.
Bruno Berger-Gorski will be in charge of stage direction in a new production by ACO - Amigos Canarios de la Ópera.
The premiere is today, 21 May, while the rest of the performances will take place on 23 and 25 May at the Teatro Pérez Galdós in Gran Canaria.
