Premiere of the opera La Regenta with María Rey-Joly and Cristian Díaz at the Naves del Español in co-production with the Teatro Real

The opera, by the composer María Luisa Manchado Torres, brings to life the text of the playwright Leopoldo Alas, Clarín, and condenses the famous novel into three acts. This is the third opera by the composer, who this time has had the collaboration of Professor Amelia Valcárcel for the preparation of the libretto.
Soprano María Rey-Joly performs the role of Obdulia, while Cristian Díaz will perform Don Víctor and alongside them, completing the cast, are María Miró as Ana Ozores, La Regenta, David Oller as El magistral, Fermín de Pas, Vicenç Esteve in the role of Álvaro Mesía, Pablo García-López as Paco Vegallana, Anna Gomá in the role of Petra, Laura Vila as Doña Paula and Gabriel Díaz in the role of Sapo.
Stage direction is by Barbara Lluch, and Jordi Francés will be the musical director in charge of the Orquesta Titular del Teatro Real and the Coro de la Comunidad de Madrid.
Performances will take place at the Naves del Español from October 24 to 29
