Reviews
nueve suertes de mujer. Teatro de la zarzuela. 2022
"Fabiola Herrera showed her good vocal momentum and her ability to change states of mind quickly in pieces as diverse as the last of the aforementioned with the "Maldito sea mi sino, maldita sea mi suerte"! of full courage against the mischievousness of "¡Pobre chica la que tiene que servir!" from "La Gran Vía" or "Son las mujeres de Babilonia" from "La corte del Faraón", which closed the official part before the encore of "María la O". Gonzalo Alonso (Beckmesser)
"...to give way to the presentation of the travelling woman with "De España vengo" from El niño judío in the exuberant voice of Nancy Fabiola Herrera, still a little cold, but who managed to display all her power and seduction in the following romanza, the beautiful "Cuando está tan hondo" from Ruperto Chapí's zarzuela El barquillero. (...) The Villena-born composer is also the author of La chavala, from which Herrera offered us the heartfelt romanza "Fue mi mare la gitana", before putting the rhythm in the audience's body with the following piece, "A una jitana presiosa" from José Serrano's zarzuela La alegría del batallón, which he sang with panache and grace. The composer from Sueca, who along with Chapí was the most present in the programme, also offered us "Vuelven las horas lejanas" from Los de Aragón and a moving version of "¿Qué te importa que no venga?" from Los claveles, which drew a standing ovation. (...) Before reaching this point, Herrera, in perfect complicity with Torres-Pardo, had given a fine interpretation of the famous romanza "Al pensar en el dueño de mis amores" from Las hijas de Zebedeo. (...) This change of register towards the comic-sical-sicalyptic was somewhat strange, but by then Nancy Fabiola Herrera had conquered the public and was celebrated with the same satisfaction. Federico Figueroa (Opera World)
ADRIANA LECOUVREUR. Teatro campoamor. 2022
Pablo Álvarez Siana (Ópera World)
