Marifé Nogales participates in the premiere of Jenůfa in Seville
February 14th, 2023
Marifé Nogales is part of the cast of artists with whom the Teatro de la Maestranza presents, for the first time in Seville, the opera Jenůfa by Leoš Janáček. The performances will be on February 16, 18 and 20, 2023.
Considered "one of the first operas written in prose, without rhyme", as indicated by the musical director of this production, Will Humburg, at the recent press conference to present the show, it also represents an advanced foray into what would later be called minimalist music.
The scenic proposal of this impressive, raw and realistic rural drama is signed by Robert Carsen. Regarding the cast, Marifé Nogales will share the stage with Agneta Eichenholz in the title role, Nadine Weissmann as Grandma Buryja, Peter Berger in the role of Laca Klemen, Thomas Atkins as Steva Buryja and Ángeles Blancas will be performing the role of Kostelnicka Buryja, among others.
