Maribel Ortega and Jeroboám Tejera in Il trovatore in Catalonia

Soprano Maribel Ortega stars in the Fundació Òpera Catalunya's production of Il trovatore, performing the character of Leonora in ten performances, which will premiere in Sabadell today, April 26th, with two more performances on the 28th and 30th. The production will go on tour in seven Catalan cities.
Bass Jeroboám Tejera also participates, as Ferrando, in five of these performances (April 26th and 30th; May 7th, 19th and 21st).
Il trovatore, premiered on January 19th 1853, in Rome with great success, is one of the most popular operas by Giuseppe Verdi and its libretto is based on the play El trovador by Antonio García Gutiérrez. The vocal cast of this work requires a quintet of solid singers for the main characters. In these functions, in addition to Maribel Ortega and Jeroboám Tejera, there is the tenor Gustavo Porta, the baritone Carles Daza and the mezzo-soprano Laura Vila.
Daniel Gil de Tejada will direct it musically and the staging is by Carles Ortiz.
