Maestro Manuel Coves will conduct the Orquesta Sinfónica Vigo 430 in the production of Don Pasquale that Amigos de la Ópera de Vigo has programmed as part of its season Otoño Lírico 2023.
Considered one of Gaetano Donizetti's greatest works, it is an opera buffa in three acts with libretto by Giovanni Ruffini who, in turn, adapts a text by Antonio Anelli for the work Ser Mancantonio by Stefano Pavesi.
In the cast, Fernando Latorre will perform the main role, the rich and elderly Don Pasquale, Natalia Labourdette will be Norina, Jesús León will assume the role of Ernesto and Fernando Campero will be Doctor Malatesta. Eugenia Corbacho will be in charge of stage direction.
The performance will take place on November 5th at the Teatro Afundación in Vigo.
After this project, Manuel Coves will face important commitments throughout the season, such asLa Bayadera at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, the production with choreography by Johan Inger of the ballet Carmen at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo and also with the renowned company of the English National Ballet and will be in charge of the musical direction of the show Generaciones with the Ballet Nacional de España at the Teatro de la Zarzuela, among others.
