Lianna Haroutounian stars in Madama Butterfly at the Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova

Soprano Lianna Haroutounian leads the cast of the upcoming production of Madama Butterfly at the Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova in the role of Cio-Cio-San. She will be joined by Manuela Custer as Suzuki, as well as Fabio Sartori as Pinkerton. The cast is completed by Vladimir Stoyanov as Sharpless and Manuel Pierattelli in the role of Goro, among others.
The Armenian soprano has performed the role of Cio-Cio-San on numerous occasions and with great success, such as at the Concertgebouw under the baton of Karel Mark Chichon, at the San Francisco Opera with Yves Abel and Jordi Bernàcer, and also at the Royal Opera House, Staatsoper Hamburg, Seattle Opera, Sanxay Festival and the Teatro Regio di Torino with Dmitri Jurowski. This season he will again step into the shoes of the young geisha in the closing of the season at the Teatro Real.
Conducting the Carlo Felice Opera Orchestra will be Maestro Fabio Luisi, in a production directed by Alvis Hermanis.
The performances in which Lianna Haroutounian will sing will take place on January 19, 21, 26 and 28.
