Lianna Haroutounian makes her debut in the leading role of La Gioconda at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples

Soprano Lianna Haroutounian heads the cast of the upcoming production of La Gioconda at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, which opens this week.
The Armenian soprano takes on the role of the protagonist in her debut in the opera's title role, and will alternate in the same role with soprano Anna Netrebko. The cast will also include tenor Jonas Kaufmann and Angelo Villari as Enzo Grimaldo, as well as Ludovic Tézier and Ernesto Petti in the role of Barnaba. Mezzo-sopranos Eve-Maud Hubeaux and Anna Maria Chiuri will give life to Laura Adorno, while Alexander Köpeczi will perform the role of Alvise Badoèro. The cast is completed by Roberto Covatta as Isèpo and Kseniia Nikolaieva as La Cieca, among others.
Maestro Pinchas Steinberg will conduct the Orchestra, Coro e Balletto del Teatro di San Carlo, with the collaboration of the Coro di Voci Bianche del Teatro di San Carlo, in a new co-production of the Teatro San Carlo with the Gran Teatre del Liceu, directed by Romain Gilbert.
Performances in which Lianna will sing will take place on 11, 14 and 17 April at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples.
