Born in Madrid, Gerardo Bullón studies with Virginia Prieto, Julián Molina, Daniel Muñoz and Ricardo Muñiz. After graduating in Law, he continues his training at the Escuela Superior de Canto de Madrid and Dramatic Art.
He works as a soloist with conductors such as Nicola Luisotti, Ivor Bolton, Óliver Díaz, Guillermo García Calvo, Jordi Bernácer, Horvath Jozsef ... as well as stage directors such as José Carlos Plaza, Graham Vick, Robert Wilson, Deborah Warner, Gustavo Tambascio, Ángel Montesinos, Eduardo Bazo, among others.
He performs important roles in the operatic repertoire (Don Giovanni, Gianni Schicchi, Tosca, Rigoletto, Madama Butterfly, Carmen, Così fan tutte, L'elisir d'amore, Il barbiere di Siviglia, La finta giardiniera, La Bohème...) and 'zarzuela' (La Revoltosa, Marina, El dúo de la Africana, Los diamantes de la corona, La gallina ciega, Luisa Fernanda, El Barquillero, La Chulapona, El bateo, Agua, azucarillos y aguardiente...).
Throughout these years, his collaboration with the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid intensified, becoming a regular singer at this Madrid coliseum. Participates in the productions La verbena de la Paloma, Curro Vargas, Black the Clown, Pinocchio, The Grand Duchess of Gerolstein, The Diamonds of the Crown, The Wildcat, Three Top Hats, La Tempranica, Brief Life, Benamor, El barberillo from Lavapiés, Pan y toros, La Dolores, Enrique Viana's show Don Pablo... With a brush? and more recently, in the absolute premiere of the play The Knight of Olmedo by Arturo Díez Boscovich.
In 2017 he stepped onto the stage of the Teatro Real in Madrid for the first time in two productions: Billy Budd by Britten and Puss in Boots by Montsalvatge. At the beginning of 2018 he returned to the Madrid coliseum with Street scene by Kurt Weill, a production that he repeated at the Monte Carlo Opera in 2020, followed by Puccini's Turandot, Menotti's telephone, Angelotti's role in Tosca, with great critical and audience, The Angel of Fire by Prokofiev, staged by Calixto Bieito, and finally, again the role of Mandarin from Turandot.
His professional career continues on an upward trajectory with engagements such as Il finto Sordo by Manuel García and The Bird of Two Colors by Conrado del Campo at the March Foundation, and Don Giovanni at the A Coruña Opera. He made his debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona with the role of Barone Douphol in La Traviata and repeated his commitment in A Coruña with the role of Riccardo in I Puritani. And more recently, he takes on another challenge: debuting the role of Sharpless in Madama Butterfly at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, a space to which he returns with La Dolores, and Conde Gil in Il segreto di Susanna by Wolf-Ferrari at the Gran Teatro From Cordoba.
Bullón's performances this season include the role of Sharpless in Madama Butterfly at the Real, the leading role in Las golondrinas at the Teatro de la Zarzuela and, most notably, the role of Scarpia in Tosca at the Staatsoper Stuttgart.
The next season he makes his debut at the Santa Fe Opera with Rigoletto, he reprises the role of Sharpless in Madama Butterfly, this time at the Liceu, he returns to the Teatro Real with La vida Breve / Green Gables and performs the double bill El bateo / La unruly at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid.
