Stage director Emiliano Suárez premieres in Burgos his particular production of Tosca, developed in an industrial and alternative environment such as Desguaces Foro, and set in Franco's Spain in the 60s.
The performance will take place on Thursday, May 16 at 8:30 p.m. with an interesting cast including tenor Shalva Mukeria as Cavaradossi, Lucrecia García, who will perform the role of Tosca, and Manuel Mas (who will be Scarpia), among others. They will be accompanied on the piano by maestro José Ramón Martín Díaz.
This production is part of the Opera Garage project, created by Emiliano Suárez and Macarena Bergareche, which was born with the aim of presenting opera in alternative spaces, bringing it to new audiences in unusual environments for a lyrical production, trying to get rid of the prejudices and elitist clichés associated with large auditoriums and opera houses.
Platea Magazine has recently published a large article about the project, including Emiliano's own words about the origins, the development of the idea and the artists who have collaborated in it. You can read it here
