Emiliano Suárez directs the three operas of the First Madrid Summer Opera Festival
April, 4th 2024
Lucia di Lammermoor, Rigoletto and La Bohème will be the titles offered during the months of June and July, all under the stage direction of Emiliano Suárez in the First Madrid Summer Opera Festival, organised and produced by OperaGarage and Okapi Producciones.
The aim of the festival is to bring opera closer to the general public, for which great artists of the Spanish scene have been chosen, such as César San Martín, Ruth Terán, José Luis Sola, Silvia Vázquez, Emmanuel Faraldo, Sandra Ferrández and Francisco Corujo, among others.
In the words of Emiliano Suárez himself, "OperaGarage is an industrial project, where we treat repertory operas with a contemporary and avant-garde approach, making the format attractive to people who have not yet approached it and offering them accessible prices. Opera in classical format is no longer current. The cultural avant-garde rules and my works are a reflection on different current social realities with which the public can fully identify".
The performances of the three titles will take place at the Teatro Marquina from the 12th of June. Rigoletto will be performed from the 12th to the 23rd of June, Lucia di Lammermoor from the 26th to the 30th of the same month and finally, La bohème, from the 3rd to the 7th of July.
