Born in Mexico, he made his debut at the age of 14 at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico performing Papageno in the children's adaptation of Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, with the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional (OSN). He has sung oratorio works such as Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle, Fauré's Requiem and Bach's cantata Ich habe genug, among others, as well as other works including Mahler's Kindertotenlieder and Lera Auerbach's The Infant Minister and his Peculiar Menagerie.
Among the awards and distinctions, he has received are Second Prize at the Josep Palet Singing Competition, in Martorell; Third Prize at the National Singing Competition of Albacete, Spain; the Cultural Honor Medal of Albacete 2023, and the Encouragement Award from the Metropolitan Opera’s Laffont Competition in New York. In addition, he was named one of Mexico’s “Top Seven Musical Promises” by Excélsior newspaper in 2017.
He began his career in Spain in 2021, performing the roles of Don Fabio in García's opera Un avvertimento ai gelosi, Sam in Bernstein's Trouble in Tahiti and Littore / Famigliare 3 in L'incoronazione di Poppea, all at the Palau de Les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia. He has also sung the roles of Figaro and Fiorello in Rossini's Il barbiere di Siviglia and Montano in Verdi's Otello with Concerlírica, directed by Leonor Gago.
In January 2023 he made his debut at the Teatre Principal in Palma de Mallorca in the production of Puccini's Il Trittico, performing the role of Maestro Spinelloccio.
In the 2023/24 season, he made his debut at Ópera de Tenerife, performing the role of Sam in Leonard Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti, stepping in successfully on just one day's notice.
He is currently co-founder and co-director of the initiative Ópera: Nuestra Herencia Olvidada ("Opera: Our Forgotten Heritage"), focused on the revival, performance, and promotion of Mexican opera. With this project, he has given numerous performances in Mexico and abroad, re-premiering previously unpublished Mexican operatic works. In March 2023, the project released its first album (available on streaming platforms) along with a critical edition of the songs for voice and piano by Cenobio Paniagua, presented on tour in several Mexican cities, as well as in Madrid, Barcelona, Granada, and Paris.
His recent and upcoming engagements include a tour of Otello across various Spanish cities; Les Trois Brigands, Peer Gynt, La traviata, and Brundibar at the Opéra National du Rhin; L’inganno felice at the Rossini in Wildbad Belcanto Opera Festival; Roméo et Juliette at the Ópera de Oviedo and the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées; La Bohème at the Teatro de la Maestranza; and Turandot at the Opéra de Rouen, among others.
