We are pleased to announce today the addition of baritone Carlos Reynoso to our roster of artists.
Of Mexican origin, baritone Carlos Reynoso begins his career in Spain in 2021, performing the roles of Don Fabio in García's opera Un avvertimento ai Gelosi, Sam in Bernstein's Trouble in Tahiti and Littore / Famigliare 3 in L'incoronazione di Poppea, all at the Palau de Les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia. He has also sung the roles of Figaro and Fiorello in Rossini's Il barbiere di Siviglia and Montano in Verdi's Otello with Concerlírica, directed by Leonor Gago.
In January 2023 he made his debut at the Teatre Principal in Palma de Mallorca in the production of Puccini's Il Trittico, where he sang the role of Maestro Spinelloccio.
This season he made his debut at the Ópera de Tenerife, performing the role of Sam in Leonard Bernstein's opera Trouble in Tahiti, successfully performing a jump in with only one day's notice.
He has also sung important oratorio works such as Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle, Fauré's Requiem and Bach's cantata Ich habe genug, among others, as well as other works such as Gustav Mahler's Kindertotenlieder and Lera Auerbach's The Infant Minstrel and his Peculiar Menagerie. Among the prizes and awards he has received are 2nd place in the Concurs de Cant Josep Palet, in Martorell; 3rd place in the Concurso Nacional de Canto de Albacete, Spain; Medalla de Honor Cultural Albacete 2023; Encouragement Award of the Laffont Competition of the Metropolitan Opera House of NY. In addition, he was included in the Top Seven Musical Promises of Mexico by the newspaper Excélsior in 2017.
He is currently co-founder of the initiative Ópera: Nuestra Herencia Olvidada, focused on the rescue, interpretation and promotion of Mexican Opera, and with which he has already performed numerous presentations in Mexico and abroad, reviving unpublished material from Mexican Opera. In March 2023 they presented their first album (available on music reproduction platforms) and critical edition of the songs for piano and voice by Cenobio Paniagua, which they presented on tour in different cities in Mexico, as well as Madrid, Barcelona, Granada and Paris.
