Carlos Aragón conducts Così fan tutte at the Teatro Calderón in Valladolid

Conductor Carlos Aragón will be in charge of conducting the next production of Così fan tutte at the Teatro Calderón in Valladolid. The cast will feature Jaquelina Livieri as Fiordiligi and Carmen Artaza as Dorabella, along with tenor Joel Prieto as Ferrando and Josep Ramón Olivé as Guglielmo. The cast is completed by Paula Mendoza in the role of Despina and Enric Martinez Castignani, who will perform Don Alfonso.
On this occasion, Carlos Aragón will conduct the Orquesta Vespres d'Arnadí and the Coro Calderón Lírico. In his remarks, the conductor has pointed out that this is an opera "almost naturalistic, which speaks of the day-to-day conflict of the people of Mozart's time". "We are making a concrete bet on the musical part of the work, since we are going to use instruments built and sounding like in Mozart's time."
The production, by the Teatro de la Maestranza, will be directed by the Sevillian Rafael R. Villalobos.
The performances will take place on January 31, February 2 and 4 at the Teatro Calderón in Valladolid.
