Carlos Aragón and Carlos Álvarez choose the 16 singers who will participate in the
Opera Estudio de Málaga April 30th, 2024 |
Last April 28th was the date chosen by the conductor Carlos Aragón and the baritone Carlos Álvarez to communicate who will be the 16 singers selected to participate in the first edition of the Ópera Estudio de Málaga.
During the training period, which will last 5 weeks, the participants will work on the score El gitano por amor, by Manuel García, also with the aim of recovering and highlighting the figure of the renowned singer, teacher and composer. The staging will be in charge of Emilio Sagi, and the costumes will be by Jesús Ruiz, two great exponents of scenography and costumes who will bring their great experience to this project.
In the words of Carlos Aragón, the project has been conceived “always looking for excellence, with the certainty that our common effort, together with the Teatro Cervantes, will help to spread our musical heritage and open the door to new paths of repertoire still unknown but no less valuable”.
The project will see the light of day in the world premiere of the work by Manuel García, El gitano por amor, which will open the 36th Lyric Season of the Teatro Cervantes de Málaga on September 20 and 22, although once the training period and the performances are over, performances may be given in other Andalusian theaters participating in the project.
