Anita Hartig and Leonor Bonilla in Die Fledermaus with the Orquesta y Coro de RTVE
May 8th, 2024
Sopranos Anita Hartig and Leonor Bonilla take part in Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss Jr, a concert organised by the Orquesta y Coro de RTVE. Anita Hartig will perform the role of Rosalinda, while Leonor Bonilla will be Adele, Rosalinda's maid. The cast is completed by the voices of tenor Thomas Blondelle as the aristocrat Gabriel von Eisenstein, David Alegret as Alfred, and tenor Enrique Viana as Prince Orlofsky.
Strauss' opera will be performed in a semi-staged version, and is the closing performance of the season for the Orquesta y Coro de RTVE. It will be conducted by Christoph König, its chief conductor, and by Enrique Viana who, in addition to his vocal part, will participate as stage director. The three acts of Die Fledermaus are full of humour, with a light-hearted plot that includes amorous entanglements and changes of identity of its protagonists, who are made up of a group of bourgeois and maids, a poet and a jailer. Performances will take place on 9 and 10 May at the Teatro Monumental.
