Andrea Niño participates in Messa di Gloria at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro
February 28th, 2024
To celebrate the 232nd anniversary of the birth of Gioachino Rossini, the Teatro Rossini and the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro are organising a tribute concert in which the Messa di Gloria by the composer from Pesaro will be performed, with the participation of Andrea Niño. This same city also holds the title of Italian Capital of Culture this year.
Andrea Niño performs the mezzo part in this work, in which María Laura Iacobellis, soprano, as well as Pietro Adaíni and Antonio Mandrillo in the tenor voices, and Alberto Comes, as bass, also take part as soloists.
The music will be provided by the Orchestra and Choir of the Rossini Conservatory, conducted by Maestro Luca Ferrara. The choir will be conducted by Riccardo Lorenzetti.
The concert will take place tomorrow, 29 February, at the Teatro Rossini in Pesaro. Andrea has also had the opportunity these days to take part in the very special project organised by the ROF, the Concerti dal balcone, in which former students of the Rossinian Academy "Alberto Zedda" perform, from the balcony of the house where Gioachino Rossini was born, fragments of well-known and not so well-known pieces from his repertoire.
