Born in Madrid, he began his musical studies at an early age, obtaining his title as piano professor. He was director and founder of various choruses with which he worked above all on the Baroque and Renaissance repertoire. At the same time, he took specialized courses in baroque organ, harpsichord and choral direction, given by acclaimed teachers of these styles.
He won Third Prize at the European Competition of Stage Directing EOP Camerata Nuova (Wiesbaden 2005) with his project for La Cenerentola, and was a finalist at the International Competition of Opera Directing in Prague (2007) with Alcina.
Since his first production, La voix humaine by Poulenc at the Festival de Música Are More de Vigo, 2003, and following his work at the Staatstheater Darmstadt between 2004 and 2010, at the invitation of its Intendant John Dew, where he staged operas such La Serva Padrona, Don Carlos and Maria Stuarda, he stage directed the World Premiere of La Cuzzoni (Teatro Albéniz, Auditorio in Barcelona) and Lord Byron (Liceu in Barcelona) and the productions of I Puritani (Festival de Ópera de La Coruña and ABAO), Lo scoiattolo in gamba (Festival Mozart and Teatro Arriaga), Die Zauberflöte (Teatro de El Escorial and Kursaal), Lucia di Lammermoor (Teatro Gayarre in Pamplona and Festival de Ópera de La Coruña), Cavalleria Rusticana and Pagliacci (Festival de Ópera de Titulcia and Móstoles), Don Pasquale (Teatro Gayarre in Pamplona), Otello (Teatro Principal de Palma de Mallorca, chosen as the best production of the season), La Fille du Regiment (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria) and Andrea Chénier (ABAO).
