Alfonso Romero Mora directs the stage of Lucia di Lammermoor at the Teatro São Carlos in Lisbon

This is a new production with performances on March 3rd, 5th, 8th and 10th. Alfonso Romero Mora is in charge of stage direction and the lighting design concept.
The musical direction will be led by maestro Antonio Pirolli and the trio of main roles will be performed by soprano Rita Marques (Lucia), Gezim Myshketa (Enrico) and Luís Gomes (Edgardo).
Lucia di Lammermoor was first performed in Naples in 1835. Gaetano Donizetti was at the height of his fame and without Italian opponents: Rossini had retired, Bellini had died and Verdi was 22 years old. Romantic Europe was enchanted by the terrible story of the Scottish woman who, in love with Edgardo and forced to marry Arturo, stabbed her husband to death on their wedding night. The opera includes very popular numbers, but the "scene of madness" is nevertheless the most eagerly awaited moment.
