Alejandro Roy, unquestionable as Don José in Carmen at Baluarte

After the performances of Carmen at Baluarte, the specialized media have highlighted the brilliant work of the tenor Alejandro Roy in the role of Don José.
Platea Magazine praises his performance as follows: "Alejandro Roy's voice admits no half measures. It is big, wide, voluminous and beautifully coloured. His treble does not lose consistency and he seems to be very comfortable in these tessituras. [...] it is a pleasure to listen to a natural voice, well emitted and filling a stage without apparent difficulty. Moreover, the voice helps us to believe in a Don José who, as early as Act II, in the tavern, announces himself to be a violent and ruthless man. In these times when tenors are too often cast in spinto and/or dramatic roles, Roy is a pleasure to hear".
On the other hand, Ópera Actual highlights the strength and vocal mastery of Alejandro Roy in the role of Don José: "Beside him, Alejandro Roy's Don José is a torrent of strength, with an impressive volume and never a hint of fatigue; he has a very important spinto instrument which he handles to perfection."
