Alejandro Roy joins GoDirect

We are very happy to be able to announce that tenor Alejandro Roy becomes part of our roster of artists and, from here, we want to thank him for the trust he has placed in GoDirect.
Born in Gijón, tenor Alejandro Roy studied in Florence with the great mezzo-soprano Fedora Barbieri.
Since his debut as Tonio in La fille du régiment at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, he has performed at some of the most important Spanish and European theaters. He began performing as a light-lyric tenor in roles such as Almaviva in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Elvino in La sonnambula, Nemorino in L'elisir d'amore or Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor, among others, evolving his voice to sing nowadays a tenor spinto repertoire.
Among his most notable subsequent appearances it is worth mentioning that in 2019 he debuts at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in the role of Calaf (Turandot) in Franco Zeffirelli's production. He has sung in such relevant stages as Arena di Verona (Tosca, Carmen), San Carlo di Napoli (Turandot), Teatro Colón in La Coruña (La forza del destino, Pagliacci), Teatro Campoamor in Oviedo (Ernani, Carmen, Adriana Lecouvreur), Teatro Luciano Pavarotti in Modena (La traviata), Novosibirsk State Academic Opera (Tosca), Palacio Euskalduna in Bilbao (Norma, Carmen, Giovanna d'Arco), Torre del Lago (Tosca, La fanciulla del West, Turandot), Sferisterio di Macerata (La traviata), Opera Xiamen China (Carmen), São Carlos in Lisbon (Norma), Teatro Romano in Mérida (Samson et Dalila), Opéra Nice (Tosca), Teatro Wielki in Warsaw (Ernani, Adriana Lecouvreur), Liceo in Barcelona (Nabucco), Savonlinna Castle of Finland (Macbeth), Teatro Regio di Parma (La battaglia di Legnano), Diocletian's Palace of Split in Croatia (Don Carlo), Teatro Cervantes of Malaga (Aida, La sonnanbula, Macbeth, Adriana Lecouvreur, Pagliacci and Cavalleria rusticana), Teatro Principal of Palma de Mallorca (Pagliacci / Cavalleria rusticana, La Bohème), National Theater of Prague (Tosca, Turandot) and Teatro Verdi of Trieste (Tosca).
In Zarzuela and Spanish opera he has performed titles such as Doña Francisquita, El gato montés, Luisa Fernanda, La tabernera del puerto, La bruja, El huésped del sevillano, Los Gavilanes, La del soto del parral, La leyenda del beso, Marina, El dúo de la africana, Curro Vargas... In 2013 he becomes part of the history of the Teatro de la Zarzuela starring in the first encore of the last 30 years.
Awarded in the 9th edition of the lyrical awards of the Teatro Campoamor, with the award for best singer of Spanish opera or zarzuela, for Curro Vargas in Curro Vargas by Chapí.
His upcoming engagements include Goyescas at the Oviedo Opera, Carmen at Baluarte, Pagliacci at the Limoges Opera and La fanciulla del West at the Hedeland Opera.
