Albert Casals participates in the Spanish premiere of Die passagierin (The Passenger)

Tenor Albert Casals is taking part in the Spanish premiere of Mieczysław Weinberg's The Passenger at the Teatro Real. He will be performing alongside Hrólfur Sæmundsson and Marcell Bakonyi in the roles of the SS Men.
They will be joined by soprano Amanda Majeski, who will take on the challenging role of Marta, while baritone Gyula Orendt will be Tadeusz. Anna Gorbachyova-Ogilvie will perform Katja, and Lidia Vinyes-Curtis will perform Krzystina, among others.
The Coro y la Orquesta Titulares del Teatro Real will be conducted on this occasion by the Lithuanian conductor Mirga Gražinytè-Tyla.
The Passenger, composed between 1919 and 1966, was premiered in a semi-staged version at the Moscow International Auditorium on 25 December 2006, and will be performed in a new production at the Teatro Real, in co-production with the Bregenz Festival, the Teatr Wielki in Warsaw and the English National Opera.
The performances will take place on March 1st, 4th, 7th, 7th, 10th, 13th, 18th, 20th and 24th at the Teatro Real.
