After the performance of the opera The Fiery Angel at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, the press has highlighted the great work of the soprano Ángeles Blancas, who performed the role of the protagonist Renata.
Thus, the newspaper Il Tacco d'Italia reports that: "The role of Renata has been performed by Ángeles Blancas Gulìn, [... ] with a robust timbre, but at the same time capable of surprising morbidity, the performer has managed to convey to the audience the intense impulses and contrasting feelings of the role, in a colloquial song that from time to time expands into oases of moving beauty".
Along the same lines, the Corriere di Puglia e Lucania has underlined the great artistic quality of the soprano: "the outstanding Spanish singer Angeles Blancas Gulin, possessor of an extreme vocal quality with a rare expressive treble and a fierce and enveloping vocal timbre that launches into prodigious high notes."
For its part, the Corriere del Mezzogiorno Puglia, in its review, highlights the work of Ángeles in getting into the skin of the protagonist: "Renata is in reality a woman observed by male eyes which the soprano Ángeles Blancas Gulín endows with a magnetic presence" and says of her interpretation that: "Gulín's Renata is magnificent and disturbing".
Other equally notable mentions can be read in media such as La Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno: "a splendid (voice of great quality and power) Ángeles Blancas (Renata)"; or the Quotidiano di Bari: "In the role of Renata the soprano Ángeles Blancas Gulín [...] A performance that surprised us with its disarming chorality, its powerful scenic dynamism and the vibrations of otherness that it transmitted".
