We are very happy to announce that the soprano Ángeles Blancas has joined our roster of artists and we would like to thank her for the trust she has placed in us to develop her representation in several European countries as well as in the United States. It is a joy to be able to count on an artist of her talent and category in GoDirect.
Moreover, we are doubly happy to be able to report that yesterday Ángeles was a resounding success in her interpretation of the role of Kostelnička from Janáček's Jenůfa at the premiere of the title at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, in a staging by Robert Carsen and under the musical direction of Will Humburg.
The audience responded with great acclaim to the soprano's vocal and interpretative commitment. There are still two more performances to go, on 18 and 20 February.
The critics, this morning, said: "Ángeles Blancas ... was a perfect choice for Kostelnicka, whose voice sounded both tough and moving, in an impeccable definition of the key character in this opera" / Andrés Moreno Mengíbar (Diario de Sevilla)
