SUZANA NADEJDE

soprano

Suzana Nadejde, originally from Romania, began studying violin and percussion at the age of 7 in her hometown. At 16, she began her vocal studies, and in 2014 she received a scholarship offered by the Region of Tuscany to study voice in Florence, where in 2019 she obtained her Second-Level Diploma (Master’s Degree) in Voice, with Cum Laude, from the Luigi Cherubini State Conservatory of Music.

She made her debut at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (Florence) in the role of Serpilla in the opera Il Giocatore by L. Cherubini. In 2018, she was admitted to the Accademia di Belcanto Rodolfo Celletti and debuted in the role of Rosina Caruccia in the opera Il Trionfo dell’onore by A. Scarlatti, as part of the Festival della Valle d’Itria in Martina Franca (Bari).

She has been the winner of the Sonzogno Prize in the Concurso Internacional Salice d’Oro in Milan, the Second Prize and Audience Prize in the Concurso Internacional Un futuro al arte in Medinaceli, the Special Prize of the Chisinau Philharmonic Orchestra in the Concurso Enescu in Paris, and the Award for Excellence in Music from the Ministry of Culture of Romania.

In Spain, she made her debut in 2023 performing the role of Isabel de Castilla at the Gran Teatro de Córdoba, in the revival of the work Gonzalo di Cordova by A. Reparaz, and she sang Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony as a soloist with the Orquesta Ciudad de Almería and the Orfeón Donostiarra.
In 2024, she debuted as Mimì in La Bohème by G. Puccini with Òpera de Catalunya and portrayed Rosita in the world premiere of the opera El gitano por amor by Manuel García at the Teatro Cervantes in Málaga.

Throughout her career, she has worked with major conductors and stage directors such as Fabio Luisi, Richard Bonynge, Carlos Aragón, Emilio Sagi, José Miguel Pérez-Sierra, Miquel Ortega, and Michael Tomas, as well as with singers of the stature of Raffaele Pe, Kenneth Tarver, Roberto Scandiuzzi, Raina Kabaivanska, Mariella Devia, Sherman Lowe, Vivica Genaux, among others.

Her voice is characterized by a powerful and highly expressive timbre, which grants her great interpretive ability and allows her to approach a wide operatic repertoire in lyrical roles such as Mimì, Fiordiligi, Violetta, Semiramide, or Vitellia.

In the 2025–2026 season, she will make her debut at the Teatro de la Zarzuela, once again performing Rosita in El gitano por amor, under the musical direction of Carlos Aragón and stage direction by Emilio Sagi.
