SUZANA NADEJDE

soprano

Suzana Nadejde, originally from Romania, began her musical training at the age of seven, studying violin and percussion in her hometown. At sixteen, she started her vocal studies and, in 2014, was awarded a scholarship granted by the Region of Tuscany to continue her training in Florence. There, she completed her studies in 2019, graduating Cum Laude with a Second Level Diploma (Master’s Degree) in Voice from the Luigi Cherubini State Conservatory of Music.

She made her debut at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino as Serpilla in Il Giocatore by Luigi Cherubini. In 2018, she was admitted to the Accademia di Belcanto Rodolfo Celletti, where she debuted as Rosina Caruccia in Il Trionfo dell’onore by Alessandro Scarlatti, presented at the Festival della Valle d’Itria in Martina Franca.

Throughout her career, she has received important international distinctions, including the Sonzogno Prize at the Salice d’Oro International Competition in Milan; Second Prize and the Audience Prize at the Un futuro al arte International Competition in Medinaceli; the Special Prize of the Chisinau Philharmonic Orchestra at the Enescu Competition in Paris; and the Prize for Excellence in Music awarded by the Ministry of Culture of Romania.

In Spain, she made her debut in 2023 as Isabel de Castilla at the Gran Teatro de Córdoba in the revival of Gonzalo di Cordova by A. Reparaz. That same year, she appeared as soprano soloist in Symphony No. 9 by Ludwig van Beethoven with the Orquesta Ciudad de Almería and the Orfeón Donostiarra. In 2024, she debuted as Mimì in La Bohème with Òpera de Catalunya and portrayed Rosita in the world premiere of El gitano por amor at the Teatro Cervantes de Málaga.

During her career, she has worked with distinguished conductors and stage directors such as Fabio Luisi, Richard Bonynge, Emilio Sagi, José Miguel Pérez-Sierra, Carlos Aragón and Miquel Ortega, among others.

Her voice is distinguished by a powerful and highly expressive timbre, qualities that grant her remarkable interpretative depth and enable her to perform a wide lyrical operatic repertoire, including roles such as Semiramide, Fiordiligi, Mimì, Leonora and Vitellia.

In the 2025–2026 season, she once again starred as Rosita in El gitano por amor, in productions presented at the Teatro de la Zarzuela and the Festival Lírico Español, under the musical direction of Carlos Aragón and stage direction of Emilio Sagi. Her performances received an excellent response from audiences and were highly praised by specialized critics.
