Sandra Ferrández stars in Carmen at the Oviedo Opera House

Mezzo-soprano Sandra Ferrández embodies the role of Carmen in the Oviedo Opera's production of Georges Bizet's Carmen at the Campoamor Theatre. This season, the iconic French opera is presented in a staging by Emilio Sagi that combines refined production design with a contemporary theatrical approach.
The production will be under the musical direction of Rubén Díez and features a distinguished cast sharing the stage with Ferrández, including Damián del Castillo and Jan Antem as Escamillo, Antonio Corianò and Antoni Lliteres in the role of Don José, as well as Francesca Sassu and Laura Brasó as Micaëla. The set design is by Daniel Bianco, the lighting by Eduardo Bravo, and the choreography by Nuria Castejón, along with the Oviedo Opera Chorus and the Oviedo Philharmonic.
This production of Carmen has been well received by the public and is part of the opera season at the Campoamor Theatre, presenting a solid vision of one of Bizet's most celebrated works with a top-level cast of voices and creative team. The premiere of Carmen will take place on February 6, 2026.
