Rafael Sánchez Araña conducts Carmen at the Ópera de Las Palmas, with Andrea Niño in the cast

Amigos Canarios de la Ópera presents Carmen by Georges Bizet, with Andrea Niño in the role of Mercedes and Rafael Sánchez-Araña as the musical director.
The cast includes the voices of Yulia Matochkina as Carmen, Arturo Chacón-Cruz as Don José, Maharram Huseynov as Escamillo, and Miren Urbieta-Vega as Micaela, among others, in addition to Andrea Niño.
Rafael Sánchez-Araña will lead the Orquesta Filarmónica and will also feature the OFGC Choir, the OFGC Children's Choir, and the Choir of the Opera Festival.
The stage direction is by Carlo Antonio de Lucia, in a production from the Teatro Verdi of Trieste.
The premiere is today, with the remaining performances on March 20 and 22, all at the Teatro Pérez Galdós in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
