Pablo Urbina conducts the Orquestra do Algarve in his first concert as the orchestra's Principal Conductor

Following his recent appointment, Maestro Pablo Urbina makes his debut as Principal Conductor of the Orquestra do Algarve with a program featuring a distinctly Anglophile flavor.
The Orquestra do Algarve aims to use 2025 to highlight the works and musical language of British composer Malcolm Arnold, one of the most prominent composers of the second half of the 20th century, known for his many compositions, including the Oscar-winning soundtrack for The Bridge on the River Kwai.
Just days after taking up his position, Pablo Urbina will take the podium to conduct a program featuring Cringlemire Garden by Ruth Gipps, Variations on a Theme by Ruth Gipps and Serenade for Small Orchestra by Malcolm Arnold, as well as Symphony No. 93 in D major by Franz Joseph Haydn.
The concert will take place on Friday, January 31, at the Cineteatro Louletano in the town of Loulé, part of the Faro district in the Algarve region of Portugal.
