Overwhelming success of Ángeles Blancas as Medea at the Mérida Festival

After the performances, on June 27 and 29 at the Teatro Romano in Mérida, the press widely publicized the work done by the soprano Ángeles Blancas. Thus, Platea Magazine highlights that:
"Little by little, Blancas built that great building that is Medea to end with a remarkable final scene, full of intention and with enough reserves to be able to respond to the inclement situation. Blancas is also a great actress and there is no gesture without intention, phrase without detail, movement without clear destination."
For its part, the newspaper Digital Extremadura places emphasis on the soprano's interpretive skills:
"Ángeles Blancas' performance as a furious and tormented Medea was particularly outstanding, bringing the opera to an emotional climax and earning the audience's applause." Praising Blancas' technique, the Extremadura Newspaper comments that:
"Medea has returned in the wonderful voice of Ángeles Blancas, which I loved, for her vocal weight and solidity, and for her strong approach to the character."
"In the performance, the soprano Ángeles Blancas dazzles with her beautifully timbred voice in the role of that Medea - demigoddess, barbarian and foreign, sorceress, passionately in love, resentful, arrogant and murderous - who infuses in each note the atmospheres loaded with bad omens and the imminent tragedy. Her performance subjugates the spectators, especially in the most famous passages of the work."
