Marifé Nogales stars the premiere of Saturraran at the Arriaga Theater

The mezzo-soprano Marifé Nogales participates in the premiere of Saturraran, by Juan Carlos Pérez, at the Arriaga Theater. She will do so playing one of the leading roles, along with Andrea Jiménez, Elías Arranz and Itxaro Mentxaka, who complete the cast.
Maestro Jon Malaxetxebarria will lead the Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa, in a co-production of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and the Teatro Arriaga, with a libretto in Basque by Kirmen Uribe, and whose stage direction is by Lucía Astigarraga.
The script tells the story of two women who cannot love each other. In the 80s, Ane, the daughter of a deep-sea fisherman, and Luna, an Andalusian who arrived in a van, fall in love with each other. Caught by the whirlwind of heroin and, feeling the rejection of their neighbors, they decide to take refuge in the ruins of the Saturraran prison.
The performances will take place on June 20 and 22 at the Arriaga Theater.
