Maribel Ortega stars in Der fliegende Holländer with the Fundació Òpera a Catalunya

Soprano Maribel Ortega will be part of the cast of Richard Wagner's Der fliegende Holländer in the Fundació Òpera a Catalunya's new production. The cast also includes José Antonio López as the Dutchman, Maribel Ortega as Senta, Sava Vemić as Daland, José Ansaldi as Erik, Elisabeth Gillming as Mary, and Jorge Juan Morata as the helmsman. The Fundació Òpera a Catalunya choir and the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès will also participate.
Josep Planells Schiaffino will be in charge of the musical direction, while Emilio López will be responsible for the stage direction. The artistic team is completed by Jordi Galobart, with set design and costumes designed by Ester Martin.
Performances are scheduled between November 28 (Teatre La Faràndula in Sabadell) and December 9. Fundació Òpera a Catalunya will also take the production to various theaters in the circuit, such as the Teatro Fortuny in Reus and the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona.
