Maribel Ortega participates in the Saaremaa Opera Festival 2024. The Fundació Òpera a Catalunya is the guest company of the Festival this year, programming for five days, from July 23 to 27, some of its most notable productions, such as Carmen, Tosca, Manon Lescaut or Il Trovatore, as well as opera and zarzuela galas.
Maribel starred yesterday in the revival of Tosca, getting into the shoes of the protagonist, Floria Tosca, sharing the stage with artists such as Enrique Ferrer (Mario Cavaradossi) or Luis Cansino (Scarpia), and under the direction of Sergi Roca Bru.
Next Friday the 26th, the soprano from Jerez returns to the stage of the Estonian theater to play Leonora in the production of Il Trovatore and, alongside her, Gustavo Porta as Manrico, Carlos Daza in the role of Il conte di Luna and Laura Vila in the role of Azucena. Finally, the finishing touch of the Festival will be a lyrical gala that will take place on Saturday the 27th and in which Maribel Ortega also participates, along with the rest of the soloists from the previous day's production, in addition to the soprano Mirjam Mesak and all of them under the direction of Daniel Gil de Tejada, who is also in charge of the musical direction of Il Trovatore.
All performances and the gala take place at the Kuressaare Castle Opera Hall in Saarema, except for the production of Carmen, which opened the Festival and took place at the Vanemuise Concert Hall in Tartu (Estonia).
