Manuel Coves conducts the ballet Carmen at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma

Maestro Manuel Coves will be the musical director for the ballet Carmen at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. This production is based on the renowned work by Prosper Mérimée and features music by Georges Bizet, Manuel de Falla, Isaac Albéniz, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, and Gabriele Bonolis.
The performance will feature the Orchestra and Ballet Company of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, with choreography by Jiří Bubeníček. The cast is led by Rebecca Bianchi, Federica Maine and Marianna Suriano in the role of Carmen, alongside Javier Rojas, Claudio Cocino and Giacomo Castellana as Don José. Alessio Rezza and Michele Satriano will alternate in the role of Lucas during different performances.
This production further establishes Maestro Coves as one of the leading specialists in ballet, having collaborated with prestigious international companies such as the English National Ballet, Semperoper Ballett, Aterballetto, Ballet Estable del Teatro Colón, Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo and Le Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève. He is also a regular guest with Spain’s foremost companies, including the Compañía Nacional de Danza and the Ballet Nacional de España, as well as emerging ensembles like the Ballet Español de la Comunidad de Madrid. The premiere is scheduled for Sunday, January 26, with additional performances on January 28, 29, 30, and 31 at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma.
