Born in Pola de Siero (Asturias). He’s known for his versatility, this includes: opera, oratorio, concert, recital and zarzuela, of all periods and styles. He has had the chance to perform at the most important venues such as Liceu, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Teatro Real, COC of Toronto, Philharmonie of Berlín, Teatro Campoamor of Oviedo, Grand Théâtre de la Ville de Luxembourg, Parco della Musica in Rome, Alexandrinsky Theatre of St.Petersburg, Teatro de la Zarzuela, Teatre Principal de Palma, Staatstheater Mainz, Auditorio of Tenerife, Krakow Philharmonic, Palacio de Festivales in Santander or Auditorios in Granada and Zaragoza.
His most recent productions include the premiere of the ópera La Paz Perpetua composed by José Río-Pareja, his performances as Des Grieux in Massenet’s Manon (Oviedo), Roméo in Romeo et Juliette (Palma de Mallorca), Alfredo in La Traviata (Villafranca), Benet Casablancas’ L’Enigma di Lea and Ariadne auf Naxos (Liceu), Rodolfo in La Bohème (SãoCarlos de Lisboa and Oviedo), Pasterz in Szymanowski’s Król Roger (Szczecin), as well as roles in Shostakóvich’s The Nose (Teatro Real), La Dolores (Teatro de la Zarzuela, Teatro Campoamor), Tristán und Isolde (Zaragoza), Entre Sevilla y Triana, La del manojo de rosas and the premiere of Luis Vázquez del Fresno’s La Dama del Alba (Oviedo). Other premieres include The Perfect American by Philip Glass (Teatro Real), King Lear and The Magic Mountain by Pawel Mykietyn (Krakow), Fuenteovejuna by Jorge Muñiz (Tenerife), María Moliner by Parera Fons (Oviedo), Majarahá by Guillermo Martínez (Oviedo), Gurú by Laurent Petitgirard (Szczecin) or Antífrida, by Ángel del Castillo (Madrid).
He works with maestros such as Kent Nagano, Sylvain Cambreling, Daniel Harding, Ádám Fischer, Pablo Heras-Casado, Nuno Coelho, Guillermo García Calvo, Víctor Pablo Pérez or Josep Pons and stage directors such as Peter Mussbach, Emilio Sagi, Michal Znaniecki, Carme Portaceli, Guy Joosten or Katie Mitchell.Among his engagements for the next season we can stand out his participation in Madama Butterfly at the Liceu in Barcelona.
