José Manuel Guinot participates in a new recording of Salomé in Mexico, in a production by David Lomelí

Tenor José Manuel Guinot has participated, during the last few weeks, in Mexico City, in the recording of a new version of Salomé, by Richard Strauss, one of the most intense and revolutionary operas of the 20th century repertoire.
This ambitious project has been made possible thanks to the contribution of David Lomelí, and has had the collaboration of Maestro Alex Prior, musical director of this recording.
The recording has brought together great voices from the current international scene: Ambur Braid in the main role of Salome, Nicholas Brownlee as Jochanaan, Stefan Vinke in the role of Herod and Lindsay Ammann as Herodias.
The cast is completed by Bille Bruley, José Manuel Guinot Pascual, Frederick Ballentine, Kameron Lopreore, Sava Vemić, Cecilia Eguiarte, Josué Cerón, Mario Rojas and Ricardo Ceballos.
In the words of Alex Prior: “Since I was four years old, my life has been intrinsically linked to opera. I have dedicated most of my time, both awake and asleep, to reflecting on how to embody the greatest blessing that opera offers humanity: a way to understand ourselves and others at the deepest level. Making this recording with some of today’s finest singers and this exceptional orchestra is an exciting opportunity to capture those years of deep reflection, in collaboration with the artistic virtuosity that this entire team brings to this project.
