Guillermo García Calvo joins the GoDirect AM roster

We are very happy to welcome Guillermo García Calvo to our roster of artists. At GoDirect, we deeply appreciate the trust he has placed in us to continue expanding his artistic career.
He holds the title of Generalmusikdirektor of Theater Chemnitz, and has developed a notable international career, conducting at some of the most prestigious theaters and opera festivals in the world, such as the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Wiener Staatsoper, the Paris Opera, the Gran Teatre of the Liceu and the Teatro Real. Since his debut in 2003 with Hansel and Gretel in Vienna, he has conducted more than 200 opera and ballet performances, highlighting works such as L'elisir d'amore, Rigoletto, The Magic Flute and Nabucco.
In Spain, he made his debut in 2011 at the Teatro Campoamor with Tristan und Isolde and has been a key figure in important productions, such as the tetralogy Der Ring des Nibelungen in Oviedo. His relationship with the Wiener Staatsoper has been crucial in his career, where he has prepared more than 50 operatic titles.
In 2019, his production of Götterdämmerung in Chemnitz was awarded the Faust Prize for best opera production in Germany. Among other recognitions, he won the Ópera XXI Prize for Siegfried and the Amics del Liceu Critics' Prize for La Gioconda.
Currently, García Calvo continues conducting on large stages. This season, his work stands out in Ariadne auf Naxos at the Teatro de la Maestranza, La traviata in Las Palmas, and a Wagner Gala with the Kärntner Sinfonieorchester.
