Great success for Sánchez-Araña at the Christmas and New Year's Concerts
January 9th, 2025
Maestro Rafael Sánchez-Araña conducted the 13th edition of the Popular New Year's Concert by the Las Palmas Symphony Orchestra, held on December 27th, 28th, and 29th at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The event was a resounding success, with all tickets sold out and more than 8,000 attendees across all performances.
Under Rafael Sánchez-Araña’s baton, the orchestra presented a festive program featuring the remarkable voice of tenor Iván Ayón-Rivas and the virtuosity of trumpeter Emilio López.
As part of its 25th-anniversary celebrations, Rafael Sánchez-Araña and the Las Palmas Symphony Orchestra reaffirmed their status as one of the cultural cornerstones of the Canary Islands with a concert that has become an essential tradition in the year-end festivities. Just days earlier, on December 20th, Maestro Sánchez-Araña also conducted the Christmas Solidarity Concert by the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra, held at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium. Organized by the Cabildo and the DISA Foundation, this event was equally successful, with all proceeds donated to the nonprofit organization Te acompañamos.
