Great success for Génesis Moreno as Adina in Las Palmas
18 de febrero de 2026
Soprano Génesis Moreno performed the title role of Adina in Gaetano Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore last week in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, as part of the Amigos Canarios de la Ópera season.

Her performance was very warmly received by the specialised press.

Ópera Actual
wrote:
“Génesis Moreno offered an Adina of strong stage presence, temperament and theatrical awareness. Vocally, she displays a solid instrument, good projection and a genuine bel canto temperament, as well as a remarkable instinct for comedy.”

Opera World noted:
“The Venezuelan soprano Génesis Moreno was a graceful and confident Adina, with just the right touch of insolence to enliven her relationship with Nemorino. Her voice, of generous amplitude, projects with brilliance and meets bel canto demands with assurance. In ‘Prendi, per me sei libero’ she displayed carefully spun filati and firm high notes, crowning a performance that combined technique and temperament.”

The Italian magazine I Teatri dell’Est observed:
“She crowned a model performance of the aria ‘Prendi, per me sei libero’, with perfect use of dynamic control, moving from pianissimo to full voice with extreme naturalness and negotiating the cabaletta’s agilità with ease. An interpreter fully aware of style and of true bel canto, endowed with a voice of great impact and projection.”

Likewise, Ritmo highlighted that Génesis “was a theatrically commanding Adina, fully aware of her power of seduction, resolving coloratura and register changes without difficulty, and displaying a ringing, well-projected upper register. The finest moment came in the second act, with broad legato phrases sung at half voice, such as a magical ‘Prendi per me sei libero’ that earned her the evening’s greatest ovation.”
