GoDirect Artists in the 2025/2026 Season at Teatro de la Zarzuela

The Teatro de la Zarzuela opens the 2025/2026 season with a production of Pepita Jiménez by Isaac Albéniz, with Guillermo García Calvo as music director. Performances will take place throughout October 2025, with Ana Ibarra performing the role of Antoñona.
In January 2026, the double bill Goyescas / El retablo de Maese Pedro, presented under the title La Edad de Plata, will feature Alejandro Roy in the role of Fernando.
The penultimate production of the season, El gitano por amor by Manuel García, scheduled for late April 2026, will be conducted by Carlos Aragón, who is very familiar with the work, having previously led the production at the Ópera Estudio del Teatro Cervantes in Málaga in 2024.
The season finale will be El gato montés by Manuel Penella, conducted by Rafael Sánchez-Araña in three performances in June.
Additionally, as part of the Ambigú program, a Homage to Antonio Machado will be presented in November, featuring soprano Sara Bañeras.
