Génesis Moreno, winner of the first prize of the Orfeo Contest

The Venezuelan soprano Génesis Moreno has been proclaimed winner of the IV ‘Orfeo’ Lyric Singing Competition of America. The final took place on August 31 in the Aula Magna of the University of Costa Rica, in San José.
The competition had an international jury made up of Alessandro Galoppini, Roberto Mauro and Robert Grayson, among others, unanimously recognizing the great talent of the soprano. In addition, the finalists were able to enjoy master classes with Galoppini, Casting Manager of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. In addition to the First Prize of the contest, worth $5,000, Génesis has received the Julio Fonseca Award for the best interpretation of the Costa Rican song, together with the baritone Kevin Godínez.
