Gabriel Alonso presents his new album at the Ambigú of the Teatro de la Zarzuela
11 of September of 2024
The baritone Gabriel Alonso presents, together with the soprano Mar Morán and the pianist Aurelio Viribay, his new album titled Mientras se borra el mundo, which compiles five of the main song cycles of the composer Borja Mariño.
Alonso participates fully in two of the cycles of the compilation. The first of them, Tríptico de Hierro, was composed on the occasion of the centenary of the poet José Hierro, while the cycle entitled Tres poemas de guerra y un sueño is composed on texts by Antonio Machado. Borja Mariño focuses on the last poems of the sevillian writer, which portray exile and the ravages of the Spanish Civil War. The cycle was premiered by Gabriel Alonso alongside Duncan Gifford's piano in 2021 at the Sony Auditorium of the Reina Sofía Higher School of Music.
The album will be presented on September 13 at the Ambigú del Teatro de la Zarzuela, where they will offer a selection of pieces from this new work.
