Baritone Gabriel Alonso has received unanimous praise from the specialized critics after his recent recording of the album Mientras se saborea el mundo, together with soprano Mar Morán and pianist Aurelio Viribay. The media highlight his vocal capacity, interpretative versatility and the careful phrasing that characterizes him.
Thus, the Mundoclásico review, signed by J.G. Messerschmidt, states:“The baritone Gabriel Alonso's restrained interpretation of the second cycle, Tres poemas de guerra y un sueño (Three war poems and a dream) is convincing and accurate. In the cycle dedicated to José Hierro, simply entitled Tríptico de Hierro, Alonso's impeccable interpretation reveals the seriousness and versatility of this singer”.
In the same vein, Andrés Moreno Mengíbar, from Scherzo, praises his interpretation: “Gabriel Alonso is a forceful voice, with lyrical profiles, clear emission and intelligible pronunciation, with a very careful phrasing always at the service of the word”.
For its part, Melómano magazine points out his “good performance”, underlining his “lyrical and homogeneous vocal material” and “excellent phrasing”. Finally, Ópera Actual highlights his “young and healthy voice”, together with “clear diction and elegant phrasing”, consolidating Gabriel Alonso as one of the most promising voices on the current lyric scene.
