Ezequiel Silberstein (Buenos Aires, 1986) is the Principal Guest Conductor of the “Juan de Dios Filiberto” National Orchestra of Argentine Music. He maintains an intense international activity in the symphonic, operatic, and audiovisual repertoire. Between 2018 and 2024, he served as conductor and music director of the Teatro Colón Orchestral Academy, and previously worked as assistant conductor of the Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra. He also served as Associate Conductor of the “José de San Martín” National Youth Symphony Orchestra.
He has collaborated as assistant to Kent Nagano at the Hamburg State Philharmonic, as well as to Evelino Pidò and Enrique Diemecke at the Teatro Colón. Previously, he worked as rehearsal conductor for the Israel Chamber Orchestra and the Eduardo Mata Youth Orchestra of UNAM in Mexico. He is currently Professor of Orchestral Conducting at the National University of the Arts.
He frequently collaborates with major orchestras in Argentina, Brazil, and Chile, and has actively participated in masterclasses with conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Benjamin Zander, Matthias Pintscher, Johannes Schlaefli, Guillermo Scarabino, and Fabián Panisello.
He studied Orchestral Conducting with Mario Benzecry at the National University of the Arts and later continued his training at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University with Yoav Talmi, where he graduated with honors with a Master’s Degree in Orchestral Conducting. He received scholarships from the Mozarteum Argentino, the State of Israel, and the Colton Foundation.
His close relationship with Teatro Colón includes serving as music director for ballet productions such as Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Le Corsaire, The Sleeping Beauty, La Bayadère, and Paquita together with the resident ballet company. In 2026, he will make his debut with the National Ballet of Uruguay conducting Le Corsaire. He was officially approved by John Williams as a conductor for the Star Wars franchise, conducting various productions together with the National Symphony Orchestra of Uruguay and the Teatro Colón Resident Orchestra. He also conducted the Latin American premiere of Marvel Studios Infinity Saga In Concert in Buenos Aires. In the symphonic-pop and audiovisual field, he has collaborated with artists such as Fito Páez, Ricky Martin, Trueno, and Abel Pintos, and has also participated in projects awarded Grammy, Latin Grammy, and Gardel Awards.
