David Pomeroy leads the cast of Eine florentinische Tragödie at NNT in Tokyo

The Canadian tenor David Pomeroy takes on the leading role in Alexander Zemlinsky’s Eine florentinische Tragödie at the New National Theatre, Tokyo.
Composed between 1915 and 1916, Eine florentinische Tragödie is the best-known work of Austrian conductor and composer Alexander Zemlinsky and is based on the play of the same name by Oscar Wilde. On this occasion, it is presented as part of a double bill alongside Gianni Schicchi.
Joining David Pomeroy, who portrays Guido Bardi, will be baritone Thomas Johannes Mayer as Simone and soprano Nancy Weissbach as Bianca.
The musical direction will be under Ryūsuke Numajiri, conducting the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, while Jun Aguni takes charge of stage direction. Performances will take place on February 2, 4, 6, and 8 at the New National Theatre, Tokyo.
