Carmen Solís shines in La vida breve

Soprano Carmen Solís took part in La vida breve alongside ORTVE at the Teatro Monumental on January 15 and 16, portraying the complex role of Salud.
Platea Magazine’s review highlighted the vocal and psychological demands of the role, noting that it is not a “brilliant” part in the traditional sense, but rather deeply exposed and full of dramatic intensity: "In this role, Carmen Solís offered a profoundly suffering portrayal of the character, with great expressive intensity, built through restraint and careful phrasing, more tragic than declamatory, very consistent with the overall interpretation of the work. She moves particularly comfortably in the middle register, where her voice gains density and expressiveness; she ascends to the high notes without technical difficulty [...] She especially shone in the melismas, executed with musicality and precision, showing a remarkable stylistic understanding of the Fallian language."
Meanwhile, La Razón states: "Carmen Solís assumed the role of Salud with impeccable intent. She maintained the character’s fatalistic nature and dignity [...] her dramatic commitment was total."
