Carlos Aragón conducts La corte de Faraón at the Teatre Principal

Carlos Aragón will take over the musical direction of the zarzuela La corte de Faraón, by Vicente Lleó, which is being performed at the Teatre Principal in Palma. Noting that the maestro has already directed this production on numerous occasions with great success, and most recently at the Teatro de la Zarzuela last season. The production, defined as a biblical operetta in one act and five scenes, mixes elements of operetta, zarzuela, revue and cuplé, and tells the story of Joseph, Jacob's favorite son, sold as a slave by his brothers.
The stage direction is by Emilio Sagi, with set design by Daniel Bianco, costumes by Gabriela Salaverri and lighting by Eduardo Bravo. The cast includes notable voices such as Manel Esteve Madrid as Pharaoh, María Rodríguez as Pharaoh's wife, Carmen Romeu as Lota, and Jorge Rodríguez-Norton as Casto José. La corte de Faraón will premiere at the Teatre Principal on January 9, 10 and 11.
