Spanish mezzo-soprano Ana Ibarra has participated with great success in the concert version production of Elektra by Richard Strauss, presented by the Opéra-Théâtre de l’Eurométropole de Metz and musically directed by David Reiland at the head of the Orchestre National de Metz Grand Est. In this version of Strauss's celebrated drama, Ibarra took on the complex role of Clytemnestra, delivering a solid and vocally powerful performance. French critics have unanimously praised her performance. The ResMusica website highlights: "We discovered the Spanish mezzo-soprano Ana Ibarra as Clytemnestra, with her warm, powerful and expressive voice, impressive in the great confrontation with Electra, from which she extracts the text with strength and conviction."
For his part, Olyrix notes that "Mezzo-soprano Ana Ibarra, in the role of Clytemnestra, possesses a robust voice, with an impressive bass register and occasional notes close to those of a tenor. She powerfully embodies this tormented soul consumed by guilt."
